I only recently started to use gel nail polishes and found that my old set of "tools" definitely needed an upgrade as there are so many more tools and accessories that I didn't have that really make the transition so much more enjoyable. In addition to the standard UV lamp and curing accessories, removing the polish is a bit more detailed than old school polishes that you can get off with a few acetone soaked cotton balls so you'll benefit from a few additional gadgets. I decided I'd like to try a nail drill kit and saw this one offered and decided to go for it.I was more than a little intimidated using a dremel style tool on my natural fingernails but was happy to see that this little drill gave me a good deal of control how fast or slow it spins so I could be more cautious starting out. This kit comes with its own little plastic case with room to add additional bits to it in the future. It has a good number of the sanding disks as well as several tips that I haven't had an opportunity to use yet, that are perfectly suited for acrylic or gel nail extensions. It comes with several nice files of varying grits, a very soft brush to brush away the fine dust after grinding, a cuticle tool along with a nice little scraper, all of which I have found to be very helpful in removing gel polish finishes. I only used the drill with the little barrel shaped sanding bands this first time to remove the top coat of my manicure that then allowed me to use either a good gel polish remover or to soak them off with acetone soaked clothes. The cord that powers the drill has a dial to determine how many RPMs you want and I started at the lowest setting that I found worked for me being anxious in my first use. This kit also came with a pair of cuticle trimmers and a nice sharp clipper for acrylic nails. I'm looking forward to continuing to experiment with this nifty tool and getting in some more practice with it.My one caveat is that the instruction booklet that came with the kit showed what each piece included was but as a brand new beginner I'll definitely head to youtube to see how and when I would use each of the different bits and how to get the most out of this kit. I think really good for a beginner, like me, all in all.
