I love my iRobot Roomba! My carpeted living room is on a different level than the rest of the rooms in my home. It also has the highest amount of foot traffic. For this reason, the Roomba lives in my living room. My carpet has never been this clean! My husband enjoys controlling it from his phone. One of his chores is to turn on the Roomba, it can also be scheduled to turn on. We are a home with 3 dogs, two of which are very large. Our dog hair issues have been eliminated once we started using this vacuum. It maps out your space and knows to avoid obstacles. It has never gotten stuck anywhere. It also self-cleans, meaning it empties what it collects into its own waste receptacle which is large enough to last for 60 days of use. This vacuum has been such a huge time saver. I absolutely love it!

No more vacuuming for me!

My god what a god send! This has to be one of the most exciting products we have in our house now! A fully automated vacuum cleaner! With work and life, it's extremely difficult to keep the house tidy and dust free. The robot came in a large green box with cardboard units. It was only wrapped in plastic with 3 main parts. The three parts were the main robot machine, home station or home base as we call it, and charging cable. The one we received was an i series with a dark silver top (almost brown IMO) and black outline. It has dark green rubber parts, strong wheels, and a sweeper arm. We felt around and everything seemed very high quality. We got a small manual and warranty paper as well. Now comes the fun part.

It was very easy to set up with the app. We downloaded and installed the iRobot app on our Android phone. You just have to select the correct type of unit you have. We also set up a daily schedule to see it in action. So far it has been great with minimum noise but wowsy does the dust and debris collect. Our iRobot picks up all of the little flecks, dust, tiny insects, and microscopic pieces of stuff you just never knew was lying around on the floors in your house. Can you imagine how much vacuuming you would have to do every day to keep up the same effort and results? I would highly recommend iRobot to those who are skeptical or just busy and want to save some of their time!

A God Send Robot

It was weird at first but this is our first one! Now that I’ve had it a few days it does have a path completely remembers it. And does great! Only thing I’m having a problem with is finding the bags.

Pretty good product

Oh my, this is by far the best Roomba! 

To be honest we think Roomba is overrated. However, it does get the job done. Mostly. (Our fav brand of robot still doesn’t offer self-empty models so we switched to Roomba for now.) Last year splurged on the i8 because we thought it would have better cleaning power but we were wrong! And we only barely use the mapping functions of the i8 and the Roomba app, which you use for all Roomba products, is awful, terrible, annoying no matter which model you have. 

We just bought a three story home and wanted a robot for each floor. We have the i8 we bought last year for our main floor where we may use the mapping function sometimes and now also bought two of these i1 , one each for the top and basement floors. 

All I do is make sure there are no loose kitty toys or big obstacles and voila, the house gets vacuumed as often as we want! 

We have 5 cats and both the i8 and i1 do an incredible job with hair. It’s just things like shredded cardboard (say, from a kitty scratcher) that roomba has trouble with. That’s ok though because nothing is perfect .. and at this price it’s totally worth it!

Don’t overspend on newer models!

“Fred” does an amazing job of keeping our floors clean. We have it set to run 3x a week whole we're at work. With 2 big dogs that shed a ton, it's a game changer. The auto empty feature is a must have (wish it had been available when we purchased our first Roomba “Ned”

Also navigates thresholds like a champ. Only thing to watch… Phone charging cables… have them off the floor!

Super tool for keeping the floors tidy.

Unboxing was very simple and easy to use. I just received this product today and I’m very excited to see how it performs. Unboxing and the set up process was very easy, I’m sure anyone could go along with it. 

I’m not sure how well it does with cleaning. I read a review mentioning that they recommend a sweep and vacuum before using this for the first time, I suppose to give it an easier first run. 

I’m letting the robot charge overnight (you’re suppose to let it charge for at least one hour before the first use). I immediately gave my Roomba a fun name (Roombaticus) and gave it a schedule. I programmed my roomba to clean everyday at noon. You have the ability to set however many days you want. 

I read some reviews about having a hard time finding replacement bags, there are plenty on Amazon, and there are even some that have zippers so you could re-use them. 

I’ll update this review as I have more experience and usage out of this thing, but overall I’m very excited and optimistic! And for the price of only $288, I felt like this was an absolute STEAL that I couldn’t pass up.

First time Roomba owner

I absolutely love my iRobot. This is literally life changing. I have a dog that sheds A LOT. I used to have to vacuum everyday to keep up with all my dogs hair on the floor. Now I just run my iRobot everyday and it saves me so much time and energy. This vacuum is so easy to use. You literally press one button on the machine to turn it on or you can use the app on your phone. It navigates around your house on its own and maps your floors so that it remembers where to clean the next time. The vacuum goes to the tower and empties itself when it’s full and it also charges on its own at the base. The bag inside the base says it doesn’t need to be changed for 60 days but I am just now changing it for the first time after about 3 and a half months. This vacuum cleans really well. It fits into a lot of small spaces and on of my favorite things is that it fits under my bed. It vacuums on hardwood floors and on area rugs with no problem. When it gets stuck on anything or needs any type of assistance it alerts you and tells you what it needs. The only assistance I’ve ever really had to do was clean my long hairs from the brush roll. But I am 6 months postpartum and was having A LOT of post partum hair loss so that makes perfect sense to me. And cleaning my hair out of the brush roll was very easy.

LIFE CHANGING

I'm a fan! Picks up really well. Mapping isn't as good as previous models but if you turn it on a few times in the same day it will finally map it for you.  The suction when it empties is kind of loud but doesn't bother me. I didn't realize it uses bags but they are reasonably priced so not really an issue. It definitely doesn't go long though before needing to be emptied. For me with my 2 dogs- I'd say probably every 10 days for me but I vacuum daily.

Definitely worth it.

For those on the sidelines not knowing the difference between i1  and the i3 , let me tell you that there is no difference except the color.If you like the grey by all means go for the i3. But if you want to save a few extra bucks by all means go for this as the 288 holiday deal is still available. Im liking my purchase thus far. One caveat, neither this nor the i3 support 5ghz wifi. You will have to connect on 2.4ghz wifi.

Very good robot vacuum on a budget

Thankfully I bought this on sale, rather than full price. It is in fact NOT ideal for pet hair. I had a eufy version that was much better with pet hair, significantly, but it just bounced off object to object. I was hoping for a better experience with the line by line cleaning. Please don’t waste your money if you have pets. We aren’t even in shedding season and the vacuum can’t pick up the hair. It just clumps it into little lines. Husband says “at least it pulls it to the surface so we know where to vacuum later” ugh. Wish I still had the box to return.

NOT ideal for pet hair.
