Pretty good overall
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a bit of trouble around the time I first purchased the item, relating to the quality of the items I received. But since then it has been (mostly) smooth sailing. I do run in to random disconnects though when it is used and it takes a while for the arc port to be recognized (though i attribute this to the tv rather than the soundbar). It sounds fantastic though but I would highly recommend pairing this with a newer model Samsung qled with q symphony and the rear speakers.

Great sound at a great price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased the Samsung Q80t 85" QLED television and, while the speakers on the TV sound pretty good by themselves, we just felt we needed a little more "oomph". So with the Black Friday sale on the HW-Q70t sound bar we had to pull the trigger. I was especially interested in the Dolby Atmos support and those upward firing speakers. This thing works in sync with the existing Q80 TV speakers and ends up creating a sound that fills the whole room and does a great job of mimicking true surround sound. That said, I'm still gonna go buy the Samsung SWA-9000S wireless rear speakers to have added true surround sound to what is already an excellent sounding system.

ATMOS sound for an ATMOS life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HW-Q70T soundbar is really great. I just wish I could get Atmos sound from my PC when playing games though. Maybe, I'm missing something? I sorta wish I would have got an NVidia graphic card, cause U think AMD is the issue. Still sounds good, but no Atmos. Atmos on the native Samsung Q80T works flawlessly. I got the rear speaker kit, the lesser priced ones, and it makes a world of difference to be honest. I use these in my room gaming setup and its pretty tight. I play music through Spotify and its really great. Much better system than the HW-350r soundbar I had for a couple years. I didn't know what I was missing!!! My only caveat is, although Atmos works fine with the XBOX One X, the sync with its apps is slightly off. Can't be fixed cause the sync needs to go the other way just a notch or two but I stopped playing it when I went full PC gaming. I never looked back. Very good sound. In my room. Can't speak for living room setups. I heard in reviews the bass was sorta lacking but I haven't had any qualms. It pretty bassy.

Great value at sub $500 price point.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not be happier with this purchase.Bar sounds amazing the Dolby atmos has been a game changer for my set up since it placed on my fireplace mantle the sound bounces off my low ceiling. Paired with swa8500 rear speakers for immersive sound, btw the Samsung website say to use swa9500 but if you all ready had purchased the 8500 they will work fine.Samsung please make up firing rear speakers that would be amazing. Negatives Bass is some what lacking for music.

Good Atmos and overall upgrade but lackluster bass
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Near Atmos sound, clarity and details really pop especially if you have the rear speaker kit (highly recommend it). Easy setup wireless but I prefer eArc - eArc HDMI for best sound. Cons: Top speakers can sound a little tinny when standing up or in direct path of the sound (very minor). When sitting down it's not an issue at all. The lack of bass compared to what it replaced a 4 year old HW-K550 with rear surround kit. Having a dedicated home theater room with 7.2.4 Klipsch Marantz theater I know what true Atmost should sound like along with hearing and feeling music and movies. I've also had a sound+ soundbar with sub and rear kit (Nearly impossible to beat under 1k but lacks the next level Atmost simulation). Having heard the Arc and various other systems I find that with the steps forward in sound processing they took a step back with mids and lows on the HW-Q70T. You have to crank up the sub and bass levels to feel anything even at higher levels on the HW-Q70T. If I would've paid retail and not a sale price I would take it back. If you're in an apartment, shared space or not a fan of bass this might not be a deal breaker for the sound quality.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between the HW Q70T and the HW Q70R?
Asked by Awesome.
- A:Answer sonafro - The HW-Q70T works with Alexa this year, has a 6.5" sub woofer (instead of 8"), and the Accoustic Beam 2.0 has been moved to the front of the soundbar. The optional rear kit is the SWA-9000S. ^Cris

Q: QuestionI read review which said "The Samsung bar surround performance is poor. It downmixes surround content to stereo in order to play it, so it soun like your audio is takng place in front of you instead of all around you" is this solved with rear speaker kit?
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer I recently purchased this sound bar, the sound bar has 2 upfiring speakers that project sound to bounce off the ceiling and then end up at the user on the couch, giving the "allusion" of surround sound. This "allusion" is not the same as having speakers right next to the couch. I would definetly disagree to say the quality by itself is poor. I did purchase the SWA-9000 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit from Samsung to try it out. The SWA-9000, added another "dimension" of sound. For example, when I watch Star trek, I can hear the phaser fire clearly start from the left rear speaker, and then travel over to the right rear speaker, as if the phaser fire is in the room, or when the Enterprise is warping away, again I hear the sound start from the left rear speaker and move its way to the right rear speaker. It is quite amazing. The SWA-9000, connects wirelessly-ish. There will be no cable between the sound bar and the SWA-9000, but there is a cable that goes between each rear speaker and the wireless sender, I was able to hide that cable behind the couch.

Q: QuestionHow do I connect the swa 9000s wireless rear surround to my HW Q70 T sound bar.
Asked by Major.
- A:Answer Hi Major! Press and hold the ID SET button on the back of the SWA-9000S wireless transmitter until the blue light starts flashing indicating the device is ready to pair. Using the soundbar remote, power off the soundbar, then press and hold the Up button on the Soundbar remote control for 5 seconds. The ID SET message appears on the display of the Soundbar for a moment, and then it disappears. The HW-Q70T soundbar will establish the connection and power on automatically. Q: QuestionCan I connect this sound bar with Netflix Streaming player coz I have Sony TV only.
Asked by Swan.
- A:Answer Hi Swan! You can connect the soundbar to any brand TV supporting HDMI, digital optical audio, or Bluetooth audio. The soundbar features an HDMI input and output allowing you to utilize HDMI pass-through to send video and audio to the TV when you connect an HDMI device directly to the soundbar. ^Tim

Q: QuestionDo I need this remote to utilize my sound bar or can I use my cable TV remote that already operates my Samsung TV? (It is not my Samsung remote , it is from Comcast)
Asked by JP.
- A:Answer Hi JP, if your audio input is set to the soundbar already the Xfinity remote should control your volume with no problem as long as the soundbar is plugged into the eARC/ARC port in the TV. Hope this helped! ^Scott

Asked by Bandoo.
- A:Answer Hi Bandoo! If you connect the soundbar to the TV with Digital Optical instead of HDMI you can access the Multi Output Audio setting in the TV menu to enable both the soundbar and TV speakers at the same time. This can be found by heading to Settings > General > Accessibility > Multi-output Audio. ^Tim
