This is much larger in real life then I expected. Overall build for the money is spot on  I only had 2 issues on step 157 it does not show exactly how it goes and it took some time that it has to go up and down but putting together its side by side and normally it shows turning. The other is all the extra pieces are they for props or am I missing something. I would recommend to a friend. It is very touchy with the legs and stand should of been bigger to help the stability. Looks great just don't touch it.

Fun build

LEGO

This set features all aspects of the Imperial Probe Droid from the Battle of Hoth. Very detailed and true to form, this probe was well designed and is a great addition to all my Star Wars “Helmet” series. A great addition to my collection.

Excellent replica

It was definitely a more difficult set. My son typically ignores the age recommendations (he's 7) because he knows his dad can help if he gets stuck. Eventually, he gave up and had his dad finish the rest. My husband told me that it was even a bit difficult for him. It still turned out great and my son loves it!

Definitely for adults

This is definitely for display only, as most of the leg sections are attached with a single clip plate or bar, and disconnect with minimal movement.
I appreciate the movie-accurate details, especially the variety of sensors on the head. The movie model has 5 legs, and this has 6, but that's trivial.
In addition to the 6 main parts bags, there are 2 small, unmarked bags that contain pieces necessary for sections 4-6 (beginning with step 97). Most of those extra pieces aren't used in the build, and account for most of the nearly 50 leftover pieces, the most of any Lego kit I've built.
The build was relatively easy. The body and head were easiest, although the head contained a lot of small pieces that could have been replaced with larger bricks since they were filler and ultimately not visible.
I really enjoy building kits of my childhood favorites, and the Probe Droid did not disappoint!

Great display build

My collection of Lego sets in general began relatively early (roughly 5 months since the writing of this review. After building sets from the Architecture collection followed by the Ideas sets, I turned my attention to the Star Wars sets. They are relatively straightforward but fun considering excellent Star Wars toys/memorabilia. Not since the Dinosaur Fossils (21320) have I built a set as intricate but fun. I found myself perplexed by certain connections but satisfied when finding the proper way to make those connections. 

My budget is relatively limited too, so I usually seek out the sets that provide lots of build time and make for great display pieces that are entertaining to return to. 

The Imperial Probe Droid is certainly one of those sets. A worthwhile purchase for the burgeoning collector and certainly for any fan of Star Wars. 

The build was certainly challenging but so worth the final result. The organization of it was excellent. Attention to detail heavily required. There are several leftover 6273229 parts, but I imagine they are for adding extra little flourishes throughout the droid. 

The Imperial Probe Droid looks and builds fantastic and was certainly worth its price. A must-have set for fans and collectors of Star Wars and Lego alike.

Attention to Detail Required, Incredible Payoff!

I love this build, but sadly I was missing some of those pieces that made the claws possible, so I had to innovate and it looks alright for what I was given. just wished I had received all the pieces I needed. The third picture is the special pieces I was left with after finishing bag 4.

Missing half of the special pieces

Another fantastic build from lego . I would recommend this build for any star wars fan . Has some extra metallic pieces , I believe they are for some accessory droids . But overall , a nice change of pace from all of the busts I've been building as of late

Amazing Droid

Enjoyed the build but the head was the most challenging, when adjusting the pieces another piece would fall off. The mechanical arms were the easy part. Lot of unnecessary pieces. Just build a circle on another circle, leave the internal parts to a minimal. Building things inside the head you can't see. 

I don't know if I missed a notch for the stand, but it's flat on the inside, no notch to anchor down the clear stand 

I'm not sure what the dark grey pieces were for. I didn't use them, just the assigned parts..from the bag (think it was bag #2)

It was a okay build. The Vader helmet was a lot more enjoyable to build.

You'd think the head would be the easy part.

This was one of the worst build experiences I've ever had, not only are the instructions not always helpful (bad angles and such), the set is just designed terribly. God forbid it be easy to assemble. Everything is so spindly and done in such a terrible way. Everything is loose and overly fragile. 

I will admit, it does look good when finished, but most of the enjoyment of LEGO is the building process, and this is totally unenjoyable.

Terribly designed

I've done an awful lot of lego puzzles including star war sets as well as avenger, city, creator, and more. This was the worst of any of them. The small "leg" pieces don't go together well or stay together. I always talk about how well legos go together
