What an amazing pellet grill.  It heats up very fast and temperature is fairly steady.  I am amazed just how fast this grill heats up.  I have smoked Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, Chuck Roast, Beef Ribs, and Pork Butt ( pulled Pork).  I have found that if I start any of these meats at 160° F for 3 hrs, the smoke flavor is perfect.  The pot is so easy to clean, just pull a knob, push it closed, and empty the tray.  I have also grilled burgers, and the grill can reach 630°F.  The previous pellet grill I owned was a total disaster and sent it back for a refund ( another brand)

Great smoker. I've had this about a month now. Smoked lots of items. All great.  Works great.  Lots of space to cook huge amounts of food at once. Very good construction. Huge pellet hopper. The only complaint i have is the wifi. One reason i bought this was for extended range adjustability.  It connected the first time i used it. Updated the firmware and hasn't connected since. The blutooth feature works. Definitely has some bugs, but functions.  Range is only 20 feet or so. Once they fix the wifi w an update?, this will be a top notch pellet grill.

Smoker works great, with a couple issues. The low pellet sensor makes the alarm go off constantly. Had to disable it, and the probes don't always work. It does a good job of cooking and smoking.

Clermont Pellet Grill & Smoker

!!!IMPORTANT!!! Boomers and zoomers, read below on some tips and tricks to overcome some of the out of the box deficiencies. 

This isn't my first Cusinart smoker. Previously I had their dual smoker/propane grill and decided I needed way more cooking space and boy did this smoker deliver. This thing is huge and holds its heat evenly. It is basically a giant oven that you can smoke stuff in. Score!

I absolutely love the range of the smoker, 160-600 degrees. In practice, 160* and 600* are tricky to hit depending on ambient temperature. I won't be using this to keep food "warm". I have a separate stick burner I use for really low temp smokes. The smoker set to 600* will realistically hover between 550-575 with short bursts to 580. If you open the sear slot it will go that high. WARNING! Be careful running at temps over 515* for an extended period of time. During the break in period I ran it at 600* for an hour and a half. The heat generated was enough to ignite unlit pellets in the auger tube. Thankfully, I was able to hit the prime button to push it all into the burner avoiding a very dangerous hopper fire. I appreciate a grill that lets me do stuff like that. Again, just like a stick burner don't be stupid. 

The price for a smoker of this caliber was crazy to me. There are very few smokers in this segment with this amount of usable cooking space. Pitboss has something close but the upper chamber has a heat difference between the lower and upper chamber. The Clermont is one giant chamber and the whole thing stays warm. WOW! 

So far i've cooked steak and spare ribs on this machine and the taste was incredible. Like a true appliance, it holds a relatively consistent temp for very long periods of time.  

Negatives would be the pellet sensor. Cuisinart's achilles heal in their smokers has always been the pellet sensor. When it thinks it is low, it will beep incessantly until it thinks it is full (even if it already is full). The sensor is a reflection sensor used in industrial automation. Contact Cusinart's support and have them send you the upgraded sensor. It helps quite a bit.

My advice for the Fulham Group is to simply eliminate the sensor or have the alarm silence after 5 seconds. The hopper size is so massive for this smoker that there is simply nothing that needs to cook for the size of the hopper. I could easily smoke for 2 continuous days with a full hopper set to 225* 

Important Pro Tips:
1. UPGRADE THE SMOKERS FIRMWARE VIA THE APP!!! No really DO THIS. It fixes a lot of the quirks of this smoker like the sensitive pellet sensor and difficulty remaining connected to a wifi network. 
2. Remove the hopper grate - this makes silencing the pellet alarm much easier. 
3. If the sensor continues to beep, disconnect it. You can do this by opening the hopper, and removing 4 screws on the panel where the fuse is. The cable you need to disconnect is grey and very thick compared to the other cables. This will silence it.

Upgrade the Smoker Firmware via the App!

The hopper beeps even when completely full and it becomes annoying.  It must be a design flaw and I did not receive it for free I would return it straight away. Also the first tome I used the handle to move the smoker the handle on the cover ripped very disappointing

There are four issues that I have with my Cuisinart. The first is alarm for low pellets does not turn off, it's constantly beeping throughout the entire cook even though the hopper is full. The second issue is the right door does not seat properly. Because the door does not seat properly it caused damage to the retention Springs that hold the door closed on top and bottom. The next issue is that thermometer plug-in number 1 to does not register, meaning when I plug in the thermometer the cuisinart does not recognize I plugged it in. I thought maybe the thermometer that I was using might have been defective so I switched with the other thermometer that came with the pit, unfortunately it still does not work. The last issue is that when I set the pit to a specific temperature, the Pitt continues to rise 15 to 20 degrees above a specific temp. Which resulted in over cooked meats.

The cooker is great but....

Only 3 stars but not for the grill but rather the shipping and customer service. EFW the shipping company Walmart used for this put a forklift into the box then delivered it with that side down so I couldn't see the damage. When I stood it up on the pallet I saw the hole but didn't see any internal damage until I opened the box. The end of the forklift dented the back side of the unit but not enough to warrant the hassle of sending it back.

Assembly was easy and the instructions were good so it only took me a couple of hours to put together. I did the initial burn off based on the Cuisinart video on youtube. It says to put the temperature up to 500 degrees for 30 minutes which I did. I noticed at the end of the 30 minutes that the temp was actually 581 degress but didn't thing anything of it. The next day I was cooking wings and set the temp to 250. The grill kept climbing and when it reached 360 I had to open the doors to reduce the temp and not burn everything. 

I'm an electronic engineer by trade so I took off the back cover of the PID controller to see if any wires were pinched or disconnected but everything looked good. So here's where the fun begins. On July 5th I called Cuisinart customer service and surprisingly someone picked up right away. He said that the PID controller is probably bad and was going to send me a new one. He said it would take a day to process the order and since it was coming from California to Michigan it'll take 5 to 7 days to get here. I sent several emails requesting the tracking info so I would know when it shipped and when to expect it but didn't receive a response. Finally on Friday the 9th I called customer service and left a voicemail with my request for tracking info. Later that day I received an email from the same person saying the order wasn't processed and sent to the warehouse until the 8th. Really 4 days to get an order through?? 

So after several more emails this week requesting tracking info I had to call and leave another voicemail to get a response via email.  Yesterday (7/13) the guy tells me that there must've been an issue at the warehouse and my order never shipped. All this time I'm hoping my part is in transit and it hasn't even left the warehouse. Today I left a voicemail requesting a supervisor call me back to see if they can expedite the shipping to overnight or at least 2nd day since this was their screwup but I haven't heard back yet and doubt I ever will. Needless to say if this part doesn't fix the problem I will be sending the grill back and getting a refund because I refuse to play this game again. I chose this over the Pitt Boss Lockport because of the design and features but I'm beginning to regret that decision.

If Cuisinart is going to make this a Walmart exclusive then Walmart needs to step up and offer this item in stores. This way I can see a damaged box before I take it home and if the unit is bad I can just take it back to the store and get another one the same day.

First, my order was over a week late and they scheduled delivery for 3 different dates.  

The grill was dented in the rear.

On a positive note, the grill heavy duty, hopefully it works as well as they say.

This thing is garbage. Rusting stainless steel shelves after just a couple months, under my covered patio. Temperature consistently wrong. Instantly had to have the pellet sensor replaced. Doors are hard to shut.
