This one works almost TOO well. You can see in the video that the stream is actually a bit much for my tiny birdbath. The pump is powerful even on a cloudy day (which is when I recorded that, if you want proof). In fact, the power you’re seeing in the attached video is about 1/3 - 1/2 of the full power of the stream. I’ve seen the thing shoot up 1.5’ - 2’ with full sun and a good amount of water beneath it.
The biggest issue is the suction. It’s not great. Because the pump is not sticking dead center in my fountain (which could also be because of the material the birdbath is made of) the water spills out, leading me to have to refill the bath often.
But this thing works and I’ll update this in a month or two if it doesn’t (fingers crossed). Not sure what the longevity of something like this SHOULD be, but I would imagine if you can get a full spring and summer out of this thing before the water starts freezing in late fall then you’d get your money’s worth.
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: it is now June, and the pump still works. If you’re planning on keeping this in a bird bath or any other body of water where “gunk” or debris will get into the intake, be mindful you will have to clean it out. There were a few times I thought this thing crapped out on me but just needed a brush to remove small pieces of debris. Still good!
