I see no reason why not. It's cast iron just the same as the pizza cast iron pan Lodge makes. You could certainly use it for pizza. Be sure to oil it up before placing your dough crust in it.

Yes, the griddle will work if it is heated in a 500F oven for 20 minutes before placing the pizza on the griddle, but a ceramic pizza stone is better. The problem with the griddle is that it has a slightly raised edge and the pizza will not slide on or off easily even with a pizza peel.

Absolutely...season well and may sprinkle with some cornmeal for authenticity. Best to preheat in oven or it will take too long to heat up and cook pizza correctly. I reheat pizza on it on stove top with an old domed pot lid on it like a mini oven...like fresh baked.

Yes, you can absolutely use the 10 1/2" cast iron griddle as a baking/pizza pan. As with all of the Lodge Logic cast iron collection, this piece is extremely versatile.

I&#39;ve been using my 12&quot; and 10&quot; skillets to make pizza - but thinking of buying this. The best way I find to do the pizza is from the suggestion and recipe from America&#39;s Test Kitchen. Preheat the oven (I just do 425 degrees) and start the raw pizza on a stovetop burner moving the pan around just browning the bottom and stop when the top starts to just bubble and place in the preheated oven for around 7 or more minutes. Best crust ever.

Seasoning equates to greasing and use. 'Lodge' cast iron cookware is pre-seasoned meaning it is heated and cured with grease. Do not wash cast iron with soap, just use hot water and a good plastic scrubby brush. Dry it good and rub some shortening in it. About once a year, you may want to grease it all over and place it in the oven to heat. You can view instructions on the 'Lodge' site or do a search for cast iron seasoning instructions.

After I clean and dry my cast iron cookware I spray them with a lite oil, any type will do, I use canola or olive oil spray...works GREAT

Seasoning or re-seasoning is when your pans are clean and you place them on the stove or in the oven while it is on to dry out the excess water and then adding oil to the pan...therefore keeping it seasoned and non-stick. I hope this helps.

seasoning - is spreading a little bit of oil in your entire griddle. This is iron, so seasoning with oil helps this against rust. Also, when you cook, most of the times you will not need to use much oil. I will definitely recommend doing this after every wash. Dry the whole griddle first (top and bottom) and season with oil.

Seasoning is oil baked into the surface of the cast iron skillet. It prevents rust, but most importantly, it makes a kind of natural, no-stick cooking surface. Instructions for seasoning cast iron can be found with an internet search

Seasoning is applying oil on the pan to keep up the nonstick and rust free qualities of the pan. After washing it with warm water and a scrub brush -- no soap -- dry the pan. I've seen some people say they use coarse salt for added scrubbing power if needed. Heat up the pan a bit and rub a thin layer of oil over the whole surface with a paper towel. That's it. Leave on the stove top or in the oven to cool.

Seasoning means to produce a coating on the metal surface which keeps food from sticking. With frequent use of the cast iron griddle using a little vegetable oil each time the seasoning process is maintained. If, however, the griddle surface is scrubbed and the dark to black surface is removed, then the next time the griddle is used, there is a high probability that the food will stick tight to the metal surface. So, to "re-season" the surface coat the griddle with vegetable oil such as corn oil, place the griddle in your oven at 400F for an hour, then let it cool in the oven. After use each time avoid scrubbing the surface, just brush off food crumbs and wipe with a paper towel. The heat will kill any germs.

Seasoning fills and seals the pores typical with the casting of iron. Some are better finished, but still have micro-pores you want the seasoning to fill and seal for a non-stick effect.

All of Lodge comes pre-season. After you use the pan to cook, u wash then hand dry then oil again. season cast iron pans are non-stick, just keep it oil..

When cast iron is seasoned it will be pretty much non-stick. After washing take a paper towel and add a little oil and wipe the inside all over and heat on the stove for a few minutes. The pan will get a nice black coating and will be pretty much non-stick.

Lodge Logic is electrostatically coated with a proprietary vegetable oil, and cured at high temperatures to allow the oil to deeply penetrate the surface of the cast iron. This "seasoning" allows for a natural, easy-release finish that improves with use. Keep your cast iron clean, dry and coated with oil in order to create and maintain this optimal non-stick seasoning.
