When I got the security cameras and HomeBase, I was blown away by it.It wasn’t as easy to set up. The HomeBase updated for about 12 hours. I thought it was broken. But it worked and the HomeBase even incorporated most other eufy cameras.Then, everything synced and worked pretty well. Sometimes it would just seeming to me, arbitrarily stop working. It wouldn’t record or motion detect.I found that turning off the geofencing helped everything a lot. I don’t think the program was ready for that.The app that goes with this is good enough. Not too much, not too little. It does what it needs to do without any unnecessary fluff.The motion detection doesn’t always work.Sometimes it is triggered by the slightest wind and shadows. Other times a vehicle will drive by, (no matter the sensitivity settings) day or night and it will not register it when the inside eufy pan and tilt will! It works but I’m always left in doubt if I’m getting the security that has been advertised.I believe I am not.The battery life is irrelevant. I got almost a month the first time, sometimes my street gets busy. Other times it’s a ghost town. I put a eufy solar panel on each of them and forget about looking at the power level.Since I’m connected to HomeKit, the 2k video quality and a few other features are muted.That’s the compromise to use HomeKit.Night vision isn’t great, but it’s better than nothing. It doesn’t always record.It works well enough. I guess.The rub:The HomeBase stopped working, I would try and turn it on and off via the app. For weeks it said it was not responding but still recording through HomeKit. I thought maybe it was the update or something.I went to the forum and got some troubleshooting ideas. I looked other places too and decided that the HomeBase was broken. By this time I was so aggravated that I thought about smashing it and throwing it away.I had uninstalled it and tried to no avail to reinstall it.I contacted Amazon customer service, they were kind and efficient. Being beyond the return date, they could not do anything other than give me the contact information for eufy customer service.Contacting Eufy customer service is easy.Hearing back is not as easy.It’s usually an email very very early in the morning, then when I respond immediately, I don’t hear back anything until 24 hours or so, between 4 and 5am. Are they ignoring me?After the first email response, to do all of the things that I had listed in the first email, (I said I had already done all of that and they are asking me to do it again and it hadn’t worked) I send them back an email saying I had already done that and exhausted all other options. Didn’t you read what I wrote? “Please honor your warranty and replace my HomeBase posthaste.”Another 24 hours or so before I hear back from them in the wee hours of the night, my address doesn’t check out and they can’t send it. Huh?It’s the same address I’ve had for a long time.I’ve had things sent to this exact address for more than a half dozen years.“Can you provide another address?”No. This is my only address.It felt like computer generated quibble with a 24 lag between their response.I hit the expedite button to be passed on to a manager, and in another expeditious 24 hours I hear back from a “manager”.By this time, I’m so aggravated by their service and product that I hope not to do business with that company again.Or anything that I would pay enough for to care about enough to ever contact customer service for.For what it is, it has not been worth the cost in money, time and aggravation trying to figure out what is wrong and dealing with customer service.I would not buy this again!Big fat NOPE.Not even close.It is way over priced for the value.If there was an option for a refund for this, I would take it. I’ve lived without the HomeBase and outside security cameras for a week now. I have no idea if they will get it together and send the HomeBase or not or even if it will be another week before it gets here.Overall I give this product a C minus.I wanted to love it.Customer service is much less than C minus.I’ve only had it for three months, had I known what know now, I would definitely not purchased this.PS: their new line is out. I wondered if this planned obsolescence with a little bait and switch thrown in for flavor.But that’s conjecture.
