Decent budget Carbon Fiber with design flaw.

Decent budget Carbon Fiber with design flaw.
Update:I decided to add a thumb screw to the shaft of the tripod to stiffen the center column and it works great. I am now comfortable extending the center column now with even a heavy lens. However, I wouldn't expect anyone to have to make the modification. It should have already been part of the design. After measuring the space on the tripod, I knew I needed a screw that was at least 12mm long and a screw diameter between 4mm and 6mm. I decided to buy a set of thumb screws and taps in that range so that I could make the final decision after seeing them.I got this pack of thumb screws:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DMSTT3S...and this set of taps:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077HTXVR1They totals about $22 together.I decided to go with the 12mm M4 thumb screw and used a 1/8 drill bit for the starter hole before using the tap. I have a tiny bit of play when screwing in the thumb screw, but it still clamps down tight.Attached are some pictures of the result.Original Review:The price was right. I like the built in monopod, the tripod is light and legs are study. However, the center column has a little too much slack and will sway when extended. The center post tightening collar only tightens the center column in small area of the total length of the tripod shaft. The shaft is about 1/2 mm bigger than the center column post. This allows the center column to rock back and forth in that half mm space below the tightening collar. It may not sound like much, but when the shaft is extended all the way, it translates to about an inch of sway at the top of the center column. That really makes it feel loose and less stable. I believe this could be corrected by adding a tightening collar at the bottom of the shaft or by adding a screw at the bottom of the shaft that will screw into the center column enough to stop the swaying. I'm tempted to tap a hole to add a tightening screw myself. For now, I try not to extend the center column and only use the legs. The legs are long enough to bring the camera above my eye line and I'm 5'8" tall. The challenge is to try and adjust all 3 legs to the right height and make it level. I normally would just move the center column for the minor height adjustments. If that slack could be snugged up at the bottom of the shaft, I think this tripod would be everything I wanted and needed. For now, I plan to keep it and try to work around the slack issues.

Went to use it for the first time since getting this as a Christmas present, did 3 coyote stands last night and while leaving the fourth one I heard “pop” and I felt the gun move luckily I had my hand on the barrel or else it would of fallen to the ground and messed up a couple thousand worth of product. As I got to the truck the whole swivel fell apart from the tripod. The plastic that held the bolt which is the main support broke, seriously buy a better quality product or you may pay the price with damages once it falls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy tripod with a convenient removable monopod leg.
Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2021
Decently sturdy and light. The monopod leg is pretty neat, I purchased a seperate ball head for the monopod (Ulanzi), so I wouldn't have to take the one off the tripod, and the smaller Ulanzi head "fits" a little better on the removed leg. Parts move and slide nicely, and the ball head can hold my sony a6400 with the Sigma 100-400 lens easily without having to crank down way too hard on the lock.

Update:
I was contacted by the company offering free exchange or waiting for sometime to get a replacement of the broken piece. I opted to wait and started using the tripod. I love it and couldn’t be happier. The replacement piece came several months later.

Old post:
I may come back later and change my review, but for now, I recieved it today and the ring under the ball head (not sure if it is part of the ball head or the tripod) is cracked.
This appears as it happened before they even painted it.
I'm really disappointed as I was looking forward to this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tripod!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 23, 2022
In my opinion, this tripod competes exceptionally well with the big-brand sturdy tripods that will set you back a lot more money. Sure, it doesn't have some of the refinements that you would get if you paid the £200 - £300 for the market-leading brands but it does allow you to use a heavy 2.5kg rig with confidence that produces great pix at the end of the day. I use mine particularly for bulb exposures at night time and, as a very sturdy tripod, the result is sharp, pin-point images that show no image shake or movement in the set-up. Iam very pleased with this and would recommend to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive robust an sturdy tripod solution.
