Wow Like Brand New box never opened

I bought this tv because I wanted to upgrade from a 32" sony in my bedroom to something a bit bigger, but I didn't want to change furniture just to put a new tv on it, which makes this TV an excellent buy at a great price for anyone who is looking for a modern TV without those stupid, annoying wide-spaced legs found on virtually every other tv sold as of 2020. 

Like many of the other reviews have said the tv appears brand new, it comes in it's original box with a "recertified" sticker next to the Sony logo, most likely if it did need to be refurbished/repaired it probably never left the factory. (However I will admit I had to return the first one I got due to uneven brightness and multiple dead pixels, so be sure to check if it is working correctly.)

As far as picture quality goes on the tv colors appear accurate and bright making it good for a bright room, darks/blacks could use a bit of improvement but otherwise are not too distracting, sound quality I found to be good, about the same as the 32 in I had. One thing to note, If you are planning to wall mount this tv, it does come with an external power brick (like a laptop) which can make it a bit of a challenge.

Excellent tv without having to compromise

I bought this Sony Model XBR-49X800E to replace a Sony 40' 2009 Bravia that was starting to show problems while powering up.

Sony says this is a 2017 model and Wal-Mart listed it as refurbished. A label on the box from Sony says it is Re-Certified. After unpacking it and looking at everything inside the box, I would say it has never been in a home. I suspect it might have been delivered to another big box store that has had financial problems and then was reclaimed, checked out and then sold.

In any case, I like everything about it. The only specification lacking from my old Sony is that this TV has a 60 hz scan rate while the old one was 120 hz.  Since I get almost all of my video content via an antenna, I don't think I will ever know the difference.  I also like the stand better on the 2017 model as compared to the 2019 model.

This TV brings us into the 21st Century in style.

Great Picture - Great Deal

This is an amazing TV,  the picture is outstanding, and its a Sony Bravia TV.   Don't let the word refurbished fool you.  There is nothing wrong with this TV that Walmart claims is refurbished.
I believe its just an over stock item that they needed to get rid of.   It was packaged in its original box and packed as if it was never sold to anyone.   All contents and parts were there and was packaged like it was never opened.   It was very easy to set up and the stand that it comes with is a plus because it fits the normal size cabinet which most people have from long ago. (Only 22

Sony Bravia 49" Class 4K  TV (Refurbished)

This is my 3rd sony tv, 40ex500, kdl50ex645 and this one. I ordered this tv and the first one was severely damaged "screen bent ans cracked all to haitees". The replacement was much better but i noticed to very small black spots on right screen od the tv. Its noticable be barely. i decided to keep the tv. It is refurbished and i have a 4 year warranty so i can sleep nicely for 4 years. I recommend the tv. love the apps.

Couple issues but love the picture

For the most part this was a good TV. Picture was nice sound quality was okay. Most people would have a TV like this going into a stereo system which I did. But the reason I had to return it to the store was the media player in the TV. When you connect a hard drive or USB to the TV it is pretty much useless. And here's what I mean by that. If you have more than a few items on your hard drive it lines it up all on one page. Instead of letting it sit in folders. Plus it gives you no option for the view of those folders. Sense I have tons of media this TV became useless to me. So I sent it back. Oh and also if you have a large hard drive it would take over an hour to read it every time you turn the TV on. That's that's not right.

TV was ordered 4 times, Accepted and processed 4 times and canceled 4 times, said card problems! Nonsense, Walmart verified account and still canceled. The 4th order was charged to my wife's card and also canceled, Walmart left hold on card for a few days and then said it shipped. So days later TV arrived with small hole in carton. I showed damage to driver and He replied do you want it or put it back on the truck? I kept the tv to inspect the damage, So screen had matching hole in alignment with damage on carton. Returned tv to local walmart! So I guess we had a bad run of luck with the purchase.

Horrible experience!
