SeerThe Seer gets to view another player's card, so she'll know the true identity of another player. That is, as long as that card doesn't get switched. And since anyone can claim to be the Seer (or any other role), will anyone believe her? |
TroublemakerThe Troublemaker has the ability to swap cards between two other players…even changing a villager into a werewolf (and vice-versa). She might bluff and say she switched cards between players in order to get the truth out. ..or she might tell the truth. |
RobberThe Robber steals a card from another player, and then becomes that role. That's all good. ..unless he steals a werewolf card, turning himself into a furry bad guy while changing the other player into a regular villager! |

WerewolfFerocious and Furry, the werewolves have a lot of info at the start of the game—they know exactly who is on their team. All they have to do to win is make sure no one else figures that out, so they need to mislead the other players. ..very carefully. |
MinionThe Minion is on the Werewolf team, but he isn't a werewolf. He knows who the werewolves are, and is trying his hardest to misdirect the rest of the players into thinking other players are the werewolves, even himself! |
TannerThe Tanner isn't on the werewolf or the village team; instead, he wants the players to think he's a werewolf, because if they vote for him, he wins, and everyone else loses! So he really has to act suspicious. ..but not 'too' suspicious. |

The variety of roles here seems to work. Nothing is too complicated, though I've yet to use the doppelgänger. The upcoming expansion seems like a bit much, but I'm tempted to buy it just too see. Part of the beauty of this game is it's simplicity. I'd hate to see it ruined with overabundance of unnecessary add-ons.
Two downsides to this game, the first being that while it's okay with 3 or 4 players, it doesn't get really fun until you have at least five. And some of the roles require even more. It can be difficult for some to get that many people together to play a game.
The other problem I had was that the backs of a couple of my cards got a bit damaged after only a dozen or so rounds of play. It wasn't anything hugely noticeable, but there was some distinctive peeling on a couple of corners. I had to try not look for these things during play. Replacement cards on the website cost $4 each, which seems a bit overpriced considering the whole game here costs less than twenty dollars. $2 or $2.50 would seem like a much more reasonable price. Since I wanted to replace three cards, I just went ahead and bought a whole replacement game when I only needed a werewolf, a troublemaker and a robber. At least now I'll have some extra replacements if any other cards get damaged. The cards feel sturdy, but I wish they had been sealed a bit better around the edges to prevent this peeling. I may have to consider getting covers, which seems ridiculous for cards that are this stocky.

It's interactive and fun. It is a game of stealth and deceit, clever, conniving, team work to save (or destroy) the village.
It involves closing your eyes each round, so as long as you are safely sat down and not too inebriated you can concentrate and plan.
The art and the production quality are really great too, it feels like you've got something that's really well made. There's also an app you can download to take over the narration, it's great, I'd suggest downloading that because then you get one more player in each round.
Great game and since each round only lasts a few minutes, you can just jump in, play, have some fun, and jump out. It's great.
Jugadores – 3 a 10+
Duración – 10 min
Complejidad – Baja
Mecánica del juego (50%) – 4.5/5
"Replayability" (20%) – 5/5
Componentes (10%) – 4.5/5
