This is large, but, so easy to use.I got many compliments on my turkey this year. I did not add anything to the cooker except a 22 # turkey that I sprayed with butter all over and salted inside and out. I then put the turkey in the roaster, breast down. I cooked at 275 for 5hrs. The turkey was moist and tender and so much easier to cut, and way easier to get the dark meat off this way too. Next year I will add a can of coke at the last hr. to make the turkey as tender as it was in the oven,( it would fall off the bone, no cutting needed) I got spoiled with adding a can of soda to the turkey, by cutting slits in turkey and basting in oven for an hr., then covering and cooking 10-12 hrs. on low. I think I can add the soda at last hr. of roasting time to make the meat extra tender, like the oven. Oh, and the turkey was not coated in grease like the oven did, and with the lift out rack,it keeps the turkey from sitting in the bird grease while cooking,and it was so easy to transfer the whole bird to the serving platter with ease. I'm 64, and this is definitely 100% easier and faster then the ole' way of oven cooking, plus it does not heat up the kitchen while cooking. Clean-up is a breeze too! I would recommend always spraying inside of roaster with non-stick oil, this would eliminate any scrubbing from where the meat touches the sides. Also, there was plenty of room for a bigger turkey too. Shipping was fast, a few days, and the roaster was packed very well so it didn't get damaged nor marked up. This was my first time ever using a roaster and I was concerned that I would not cook the Thanksgiving turkey right but I looked online for tips from people who have used it successfully and it turned out great. I had the turkey(on the roasting rack)oiled, seasoned and stuffed in the liner, and turned the roaster on to its highest setting (with the turkey and liner NOT in it) and let it heat up for almost half an hour, then I put the liner with the turkey in it into the roaster and put the lid on. Roast it for 30 min on high and then turn it down to 325 for the amount of time it says for the weight of your bird. If you do not open the lid during that 30 min on high you will get a nicely browned bird. I thought the pan was dry by the sound of the sizzling but when I peaked there was more than enough liquid. So if you follow the instructions that came with it and these tips, you won't have any worries about your turkey turning out great. Turns out my two bedroom apt has a studio sized oven!! I trust my Oster products, so after discovering my big turkey wouldn't fit in my oven... Oster to the rescue!! My mother used one as I was growing up. It's not as heavy as they used to be, but are just as easy. I did a dry run with a couple large chickens, and they were terrific. You won't be disappointed. I took this product at it's word and roasted a just under 24# turkey...Bottom was done early, top did not brown...Seemed like it cooked a bit hotter than it said... All in all, with a smaller bird I think this roaster would be excellent...and I look forward to roasting other foods in it in the future. Easy to clean, works well. Only other issue is that the power cord is short...so unless you have a ready plug in close at hand, you'll need an extension cord. For $35.00 I think it's a great value. At full price I'd have to reconsider... But in the end it essentially did it's job...and while not as perfect as I'd hoped, it did a good job and I"ll continue to use it. Recommend but on a limited basis...

Why is this the first time I've ever considered an electric roaster? I followed the instructions and my turkey came out perfect! I saved so much time because I was able to use my oven to bake all of my sides while my turkey was roasting. I'm planning my Christmas dinner now. I can wait to use it again!
