This AT nighthawk is the fifth AT Citizen that I currently have in my Citizen collection and have another on order. I never tire of the features and craftsmanship of this brand.

I'm about functionality. Gun metal is my type of watch. It has the desired types of functions without being over whelming. The only down side is .........it must be charged before you are able to set ANYTHING on this watch. I thought you could pull out the stem and you're in business. Not for this one. And you must follow the step by step instructions exactly as written. Definitely a sequence here and no changing it. After you are able to accomplish this it's smooth sailing. Do Not purchase the warranty with this time piece. It runs concurrent with the manufactures warranty-you don't want that. The only thing I wish it had is a laminated face during hours of darkness.

The Citizen AT4117-56H Promaster Nighthawk is overall a very good radio-control, black-ion-plated watch from Citizen. It does , however, have 4 drawbacks: (1) the watch is programmed to receive the USA and German time calibration signals from Ft.Collins, Colorado and Mainflingen, Germany respectively. But the watch has no European cities programmed into it, which means that the radio control feature is totally useless if you live in or are visiting Europe! Logically, since 4 US cities (New York, Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles) and 1 foreign city (London) are programmed into the watch, you would think that Citizen would have programmed the watch to receive the UK time calibration signal and not the German time calibration signal. Or conversely, since Citizen programmed the watch to receive the German time calibration signal, logically Citizen should have programmed European cities into the watch so that the radio-control feature would be useful if the watch owner lives in or is visiting Europe. (2) The watch has silver edging on the watch hands and silver watch markers which are unappealing to fans of black-ion-plated watches because the watch looks to glitzy and it annoyingly reflects too much light , which means you have to angle the watch to look at the watch dial without glare reflecting off the watch dial. (3) the watch lacks full-length lume on the watch markers, and only has luminescent square and rectangular-shaped dots above each marker. (4) The second hand lacks a luminescent tip. I realize of course that the reason that Citizen did not make the second hand luminescent is because the watch has a power-saving feature in which the second hand stops revolving around the watch dial after some minutes in total darkness. But Citizen fails to put lume on the second hand on most of their Eco-Drive watches regardless of whether or not a watch has a power-saving feature.Read full review
