The specs say that only 8% of light is being transmitted, but I think it's a bit higher than that. The accompanying info from Columbia categorized them as a "3", which means that light transmission can be anywhere from 8 to 18 percent, which is a pretty wide range. They fit well on him, and look good, but we had both been hoping for a darker lens and less light transmission.

The construction is a bit delicate, so a hard case for carrying is advised. The carrying case that is included with the glasses is a bit large bulky for everyday use. The glasses do not include a cleaning cloth or cloth case. The glasses lens have a slight magnification or distortion. Otherwise, for the price, they are a good polarized lens value. The glasses have a design that is similar to higher priced glasses.
