You'll see a lot of bones on the grills as you drive down I-35, but none are as tasty as the ones you'll get when you stop at Tony DeMaria's Bar-B-Que on Elm Street in Waco: Pay $5 for $10 to spend on food and non-alcoholic drinks. Ramp up for Texas' tenderest ribs, smokiest brisket, and plumpest sausage, served on butcher paper with a cup of gravy you'll want to pour over your entire meal. Since Tony's opened in 1946, there's been a DeMaria turning the pike in the kitchen of this family restaurant. Regulars wouldn't overpass Tony's for anything: "I've been going there since I was little and won't ever stop going," says one. This joint closes once the pits are empty, so avoid the rush and get BBQ served your way or the highway by the owner himself. Want more?
