If 42 People Donate $10, Then Spay/Houston Can Spay or Neuter 12 Pets Whose Owners Have Low Incomes

The Issue: High Animal Euthanasia Rates in Texas Euthanasia rates of animal shelters in Texas are 10% higher than the average United States rates, with 58% of shelter animals euthanized, according to the 2011 Animal Welfare Plan by The Meadows Foundation. Besides lowering the euthanasia rate and fighting pet overpopulation, spaying or neutering can also help prevent certain infections and cancers in both male and female pets. The Campaign: Subsidizing Costs of Spaying or Neutering If this Grassroots campaign raises $420, matched by an anonymous donor to become $840, then Spay/Houston can subsidize the cost of spaying or neutering 12 pets whose owners have low incomes.
