'Tis the season for indulging in delicious pie... but that isn't limited to the sweet kind. Enter this Adventure: an afternoon of pizza making and beer drinking at Barra. Known for dishing out modern Italian fare with an emphasis on spices, sumptuous greens, and a culinary precision, Barra is the perfect spot to host this delicious afternoon. We'll enter its well-scented premises in clothes we don't mind getting a pepper or two on and split into two groups. One will enjoy a sampling of four 4-ounce beers while noshing on an appetizer of specialty pizza bites. Meanwhile, the other group will take in a demo on how to prepare a 10- to 12-inch pizza, including dough stretching, topping selection, and oven fundamentals. We'll prepare our own creations under the guidance of our instructor, and then enjoy our labor of love -- a sure sign of proof that the season's pies don't have to be limited to apple and pecan.
