I am currently selling this Dell 600m laptop. This laptop is loaded with features. This is what Dell has to say about it...
The Inspiron 600m is designed for motion, with easy-to-carry style, integrated wireless connectivity, and long battery life. Powered by Intel® Centrino Mobile Technology -- the Intel Pentium M processor and 855 chipset, with Intel PRO Wireless 2100 miniPCI card -- the 600m flies longer. Large high-resolution displays and explosive graphics propel the 600m to a performance level coveted by students, small business owners, and mobile warriors alike.
This laptop is great in that it is a very thin and light laptop, that performs as well as many Pentium 4 laptops that are big and heavy. The new Intel Centrino processor is optimized for laptops battery life and provides the performance of a 2.2Ghz Pentium 4.
My particular model has 24X CD-RW/DVD combo drive, 14.1 SXGA+ screen (1400 x 1050), 64MB ATI Radeon Mobility graphics card, 384MB DDR RAM, 60GB hard drive. It includes a Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 WLAN miniPCI card, so you don' t have any bulky wireless cards sticking out the side of the laptop when accessing wireless networks. It works great, and lets you access the internet wirelessly in places like Starbucks, and basically anywhere else Wi-Fi is supported as 802.11b is the standard for wireless networking.
This laptop comes with Windows XP Professional, and is pre-installed. This is an upgrade over Home Edition that provides more features and more suited for business and working, but works exactly the same. XP Professional is the same as XP Home Edition, except for these new features.
This laptop is especially loaded because of the added built-in Bluetooth. Bluetooth is and exciting new technology that lets you connect your computer to your other wireless devices such as your Palm, Cell phone and other items that support it.
In selling this laptop I am also including the Dell Port Replicator for the 600m. This allows you more plugs for your laptop, adding 3 more USB 2.0 ports, a DVI connector, and PS/2 ports. This Replicator is especially handy as it allows you to just set the laptop down onto it to allow it to charge and connect it to a larger monitor maybe.
Another item I purchased with this laptop was an additional modular battery. This allows you to use 2 batteries at once and get almost twice the battery life. You just simply take out the CD drive and you are able to extend your battery life. This is especially handy for long trips and times when you are away from a plug for awhile.
I only used this laptop a little bit, and before I give it to the new owner I will wipe the hard drive clean with the Dell restore CD, so the computer will be as it was just off the assembly line. I also will be able to fully transfer the 1 year warranty that came with it to the new owner.
