Yeah that deal sounds tempting, especially compared to other retailer costs, let alone a $30 gift card, but it costs $100 for a factory toner replacement or $70 for a generic replacement. That's where the ripoff is, as with all printers or all-in-ones.

That's why these types of things are basically disposable - the deals on new, better ones is the same/less than replacement toner cartridges - replace them wiwth new ones with similar deals in the future.

That's really quite sad when you think about it. Having to replace an entire working printer or whatever just because the cost associated with replacement cartridges is not very cost effective - and I've done it many times. Hopefully most people send theirs to a recycler instead sticking it their trash can headed for a landfill.

Maybe congress can actually do something worthwhile and investigate why the replacement cartridges for these things cost so much - it's extortion! There is no way it costs $50-$100 to make one.
