I bought 2 of these drives at Target for $49.98 each on 5/30/09! This Target store is located in Lithonia, GA on Mall Pkwy - right across the street from Stonecrest Mall.
Specs: Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 2.0; 1TB; USB 2.0; Order# WDH1U10000N; Model# WD10000H1U-00.
I am not making this up and these were brand new, unopened hard drives. The display price was $49.98 but I still scanned it forever on the self-scanner because I was so paranoid. Sure enough, it was $49.98 at checkout! I cannot believe my luck because I almost fell for the "sale" at PCConnection :-) I had to post about this deal because I feel I could burst I'm so damned happy!
PS: After I purchased the drives I immediately went to the Best Buy store on Turner Hill Road just to check... and Best Buy was selling it for $139.99! Today, 6/7/07, BestBuy.com has this drive "on sale" for $119.99. Ahh, life is good :-)
