I know it has been said a million times, but here is one more. I ordered a swing set for my daughter on 8/8/2008. Her Birthday is on 10/20. They just canceled the order and won't replace or deliver the product. Swing Set ordered on 8/8/2008 - just over $1,700 Delivery Scheduled between 8/21/08 and 9/5/08 - that is some slow shipping 9/5/08 arrives and there is no swing set I place about 4 calls and find out it was damaged by the lame carrier (Bekins / Home Direct) I complain and Wal-Mart offers 10% off and a new order New order placed on 9/16/2008 Scheduled for delivery between 9/29/08 and 10/3/08 10/3/08 arrives and no sing set 4-5 more phone calls and ... wait for it ... damaged again. I contact the manufacturer (www.gorillaplaysets.com/). They can replace any parts damaged in transit. They would like to see a photo of the damaged cartons. Home Direct wants to charge Wal-Mart $18.50 per photo for the item that they damaged. Wal-Mart offers to deliver the damaged cartons for me to inspect. Wal-Mart offers another $100 off the shipping and will have the damaged item delivered ASAP Later that night someone at Wal-Mart overrides the customer service and cancels my order completely. Wal-Mart issues a $1,700 credit to the Credit Card I used. I paid this bill last month and I rarely use this card for anything. It may take a while to use up a $1,700 credit. I waited 60 days for this swing set. The 10% off and $100 credit are now worthless! I let the supervisor at wal--mart.com know that this will be my last order ever from their store. I also let her know that 20-30 family members will be here next week for the birthday party and I bet anyone can guess the first thing I tell every single one of them. There is a Wal-Mart and a Target about the same distance from my home. I already shop at Target more often. I am officially going to avoid Wal-Mart whenever possible. I’m not going to drive an extra 50 miles out of the way to buy something I need. But Wal-Mart will be a LAST RESORT. -Nightmare PS – I order the same swing set from Gorilla today and it will be here next Thursday or Friday. It did cost about $150 more, but if I had known what a PITA Wal-Mart was, I should have just paid the extra $150 in the first place.
