08/11/03

Having spoken to Staples online support staff today, it appears they are doing everything in their power to refuse any and all coupons that originate from any source other than direct mail to a specific customer. Now that I' ve tried nearly every coupon here, I' ve got to say they seem to be achieving their goal.

I guess they have their reasons. I' m not into screwing Staples, I simply want to take advantage of legitimate opportunities to save some bucks. Is there some formula that works with the Staples coupons listed here?

I just placed an order by phone with staples using the $10 off $50.

I also asked if the $15 off $75 will work as well and they said yes.

I haven' t tried the in-store $20 off $85 as yet. I expect I won' t have a problem.

got this in the mail:
Buy 1 get 1 free OfficeDepot CDR 100-PK (SKU 241-692)
" To use this coupon online, go to www.officedepot.com/offers/save.do and type your coupon code in the **** ID/Coupon Code box and your savings will appear at checkout."
code: 19067305 expires 9/18/03

It says Coupon is good for one-time use only. Limit 1 per customer. It also says not transferable and my name is on the mailer, but you can try it.

Has anyone got either the $50 of $200 or the free photo paper coupons to work? I tried to get either and all I get is problems. The $50 of $200 asks for a 16 digit coupon and the paper one says I don' t have the right items in my cart, even though I have 2 ink cartriges and the paper there. (code 63313). What gives? I know Staples probably hates these sites, but they know it is going on and they still post the codes..., so either use them or get rid of the system.

Any thoughts?

I think some stupid manager at Staples is trying to piss off the customer by refusing to accept the coupon. I have already place the order on Sat. and thier system took my coupon. However, I got a email today says that they will not honer the coupon, and they suggest I can cancel the order or they will ship the order without the coupon. ($50 off $200).

Of course I was forced to cancel my order. Well... its a fair game, they can sell my email address and phone number to other businesses. We as the consumer should be able to share our information to save money...

I used the 12% discount during each period that was on the coupon.

Some Staples stores are more willing to accept coupons than others.

Sorry to hear you had difficulty using the discount. Perhaps if you have another Staples store in your area you might have better luck trying there.

Samsung i300 phone going for $100 after $100 rebate...deal is a plus because you get a 20" Apex TV with the purchase of the phone. The free TV normally requires an activation of a wireless phone, but there is an exception for Sprint PCS phones. Great deal for anyone looking to get a PDA phone with Sprint.

I received a call on my cell phone while I was on lunch at work today. The call showed up as " Call" which basically means that there was no Caller I.D. information. So I let the call roll over to voice mail and the caller left a message. It was a lady from Staples informing me that my order was on hold due to the coupon that I used being invalid. Hello?! Their system left it go thru! She went on to say that I had until the same time tomorrow to call and cancel the order or the order would go thru without the coupon. Uhm, NO I don' t think so!!! First of all I would be on the phone with my credit card company faster than lightening disputing the amout of the charge since it is not what I authorized Staples to charge my card. When I got home I called Staples and the operator told me that the coupon had expired prior to my using it, but then why did their system let it go thru. Also, I said I found it humorous about them even thinking about charging my credit card more than I authorized and that I would notify my credit card company to dispute it. I still have the message on my cell phone.

Which staples coupon did you use?

I' ve been using the $20 off $85 and making phone orders. When they tell me it' s been already used I tell them to open a new account for me and give them a different phome number. No problem with that coupon. I think this is the best coupon they have. 23% off. I' ve also used the $20 off $100 no problem..

The October catalog I received has a code for a free b/w television. It isn' t a high quality set but it does run on batteries so it would be good in emergencies. The coupon says:

1. Add items totaling $150.00 or more to cart.
2. Add item No. 394457-GJ to your cart.
3. Type in coupon code 37553....

The code is 37553 +your customer number + 2.
