Why spend an extra $250 for a monitor and only have 1GB of ram for a QUAD CORE system. Very bad advice. People who know about computers should be doing your coupons for computer stuff.

Because the 24inch monitor is 400 bucks purchased separately and 4GB of memory is about 50 bucks on Newegg. You do the math, Einstein

I didn't write either of the replies, but here's some constructive critism: If it's a good idea to get more RAM and it's cheaper somewhere else, maybe make a mention of it so someone looking to purchase a system knows this?

I didn't recommend upgrading the memory b/c as #3 said you can pick it up cheaper elsewhere. I did add a line in the deal mentioning the memory upgrade as I thought it was a great suggestion. Thanks everyone!

I have 4 Dell computers, 2 desktops and 2 laptops including one Inspiron LT and as I accumulated them over the last 5 or 6 years, I have never had a hardware problem - software problems? Sure! Microsoft stinks! When calling Dell to ask a question, I always seem to get a person who has very poor command of english with an accent that I have a very hard time understanding.

Hey I've still got a ten year old Dell Dimension D333 (yeah, that's a PII 333 MHz) with 512KB of memory and it is still functioning as a websurfer. I've never had a problem with my other two more recent Dell desktops and two laptops. If you hate Dell, fine. Just don't spam up this board and take it elsewhere. Thank you.

Yup, I have purchased 4 Dell laptops and 3 desktops in the past 3 years for myself and others and almost no problems to speak of. I did have a problem with the DVD writer on one of the laptops and Dell sent me a replacement DVD writer and advised me over the phone how to replace it (remove one screw). Dell does give you the best bang for the buck.
