Details: Dell has this great basic 15.4-inch widescreen notebook for $499 with free shipping. For an extra $50, you can upgrade to 1GB of memory which I'd recommend for any system running Windows Vista. Shipping is an extra $19.99.

    With the Vista operating system and the 512 MB of RAM included in the purchase price, you'll be able to turn the machine on and stare at it. And that's about all you'll be able to do.

    Vista on a Celeron-M-processor laptop with less than 1 GB is a machine not suitable for the purpose intended, assuming your purpose is to use a computer for more than a paperweight.

    DealCatcher has much better Dell deals from Dell Small Business for machines with processors and RAM adequate to actually work. Take a look at what else is available on the DealCatcher site. Golly, I can't even go through this site without finding great deals.

    This deal, in my opinion, is no deal at all.

    You should be a Presidential speech writer! I couldn't have said it any better myself! NEVER EVER BY A CELERON OR A SEMPRON PROCESSOR. It is 2008 for goodness sakes! We can shoot satellites the size of buses travelling at 17,000 miles per hour out of the sky and anyone would consider buying a CELERON OR AN AMD SEMPRON? Geez!
