I recently called the same Midas muffler shop here in Baton Rouge, LA. I got a quote on a muffler, and warranty, for 129.95, which I thought was great. I called them back a week later to see if they had the muffler in stock, somehow the price had went up to 267.87, and this was the same salesman that I had spoken with a week before, I wont be doing business with them. Thanks

Hmm, thanks. I will soon be getting a new muffler for my minivan. That's something to watch out for.

I will get my quote in writing.

Midas ... a few years back, I took my car in for a new muffler. Once you get a verbal quote, get it in writting! Once they begin working on your car, they can and will add additional charges (like for a clamp) onto your bill. This has happened to three people I know AND myself! They may carry a well-known name, but most places are individually owner/operated and as such, will try to jack your price.
