Florida is widely known as a dead zone for places that double coupons. But, I did find one place that has several locations in Florida, for those of you out there.

It's Fred's. There are two here in Jacksonville, and several more throughout the state. I'm not sure about each location 100%, but they had an official company policy posted at the customer service check-out. They double coupons up to (and including) $0.70 on Saturdays only.

I was there today looking for a cheap coffee maker, and noticed the big sign at the check-out. So not only is it nice to have a place that does double coupons, it's nice that their policy is clearly displayed and easily seen.

For those of you not familiar with Fred's, it's not a grocery store. It's more like a Family Dollar. They have some food products, mostly snacks but a few canned goods and a few refrigerated cases with milk and some other stuff. I bought a thing of Folgers 100% Columbian for $2.79 (same product was $4.99 at CVS). They do have a lot of low priced home items, and a lot of cleaning products, personal hygiene products, and a fair amount of pet supplies. So there will be plenty of opportunity to double up some of these coupons I have. :-)

hi be careful at freds , i go there every saturday but not sure about yours i use to live in saint augustine but i live in tenn now .. the register here will only double one coupon on the same product ..example i bought the scope on sale for 2.00 used .50 coupon got it for a dollar but i had ten it would only double one .. so i made her void it .. and ring them up seperate ..... know what you should pay in the end sometimes it dont double them /.... so i add up before i check out.. not sure what the policy states .. havent read it they dont have it posted here matter of fact until i went there they didnt know they doubled on saturdays ..lol

Yeah, I was excited that they doubled (because it seems no one else does), then I saw that they only double one coupon on like items. I haven't done it yet, but it still seems like a good deal, at least for some coupons.

Since you used to live in St. Augustine, did you know of any places around there that doubled?

If not (and I doubt there is), I've considered seeing if any of the stores in South Georgia do. If so it might be worth it to make the trip if there's a great sale and I have good coupons. What do you think?

none around saint augustine , doubled but according to where you are georgia might be a good hit...could be worth your while....

try this... get different "flavors" of the products. I haven't went to Freds in ages but this used to work back when they doubled up to $1.

Their store locator sucks as it only gives you a 70 mile radius and no search results for the state. So here are the google results:

I live in North Florida and want to say the truth it will double as a storage space I have up here. Wall-mart is the only one and good store that had never been that it will take another shops coupon.

i live in North FL and i'd heard about Freds but i had no idea there was one near by (its the one nearest me is about 20 mins away but is totally worth it for the money i'll save.... THANK YOU SOO MUCH for posting this.
