If you are going to slam someone's spelling, you should at least check your own wording. Atypical means "not typical." You meant typical.

Just sign up at homedepotmoving.com and they will send you a legitimate 10% off coupon for free.

I bought a coupon on eBay and the HD I went to would not accept them. I wish I had read this forum before I bought the coupon. I filed a complaint about this counterfeit coupon with eBay and PayPal, but it's turning out to be completely useless to do so. PayPal wants me to get a letter from HD Corporate on company letterhead certifying that the coupon I gave them is fake. And...they have me 1.5 weeks to do so. Knowing how giant companies like HD operate, I know that's an impossible task. Added to that, I filed the complaint with eBay/PayPal over a month and half ago. I don't even think the HD employee who refused the coupon I presented even remembers me, if she even works there anymore. This is an important lesson in that people aren't protected on eBay/PayPal despite all of the "buyer protection" verbiage on their site.

They work. I've already bought a stove, washer, dryer, and mower. Saved myself $365, and I still need to buy some more appliances.

I used it at Lowe's though (no questions asked), as I heard HD will no longer accept them.

If you have a Military or Veterans Administration ID card, you can get 10% off; however, I was informed by a cashier at Schadd Rd, Knoxville, TN branch that as of August 6, 2007, NO coupons (or discounts) of any kind were being accepted.

Not sure of it's just this branch, or if it's all Home Depots.

Lowes still gives the 10% Military/VA discount though.

I actually bid and won an auction for the 20% coupon and less than 24 hours later got an email from ebay saying that all of them had been pulled and the auction voided. My son worked for HD and did get one of the 20% for Christmas, but it did expire in April. Disappointing but understood why they pulled the auction. As someone else said, BEWARE!!! I almost mailed my money order.

My sister just bought 5 of these 20% off coupons on eBay. Well, her local HS store won't accept them. So she tried to contact the seller on eBay and gues what? The seller won't write back! The seller changer her name to another eBay ID and is selling them under another ID.

Caution to eBay buyers: try to find a laminated card with a barcode from a reputable seller who has at least 100 feedbacks and has been around for awhile!

My local Home Depot in Selma did't accept the 10% coupon because it was a copy but I got a 20% coupon and it was accepted. The 10% didnt have the barcode.

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (12/2/2007 10:54:57 AM)

I got taken too. i dont understand how this can continue for well over a year, (judging by the dates on the posts). The checks or money orders used to purchace the cards have to be mailed right? The adress that i mailed it to was in florida. And i am assuming that alot of people have complained to ebay. Why wouldnt ebay report this to the authorities and the scammers arrested?

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (12/6/2007 1:57:18 PM)

Yes I got cheated too. I mailed my check to florida. I definitely know of 2 ids "kriswest" and "savyings" who were selling these coupons over the thanksgiving weekend. I think ebay should be responsible for letting these people off the hook.

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (12/6/2007 1:59:26 PM)

Also I am sure these guys are still prowling on ebay with different ids. We are ourselves to blame anyways for not doing the research before buying stuff from these cheats.

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (12/16/2007 8:09:09 PM)

There are some new coupons out on ebay for 20% discount if you use your amex card. Are these legit?

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (12/17/2007 10:39:24 PM)

HOW can you people THINK of using FAKE and bogus coupons????? Don't you know that this is COUPON FRAUD and it does carry a criminal sentence if caught. It ALSO RAISES THE PRICES in the stores you idiots because the stores NEED To recoup what they lost! You ought to be ashamed!!!!!!! Most stores only operate on a 1% profit margin....and no, NO excuse is acceptable! YOU are STEALING. So I really don't feel too sorry for those of you who were "ripped off" by an shady Ebay deal!!!!!
Be an adult and WORK for a living and pay for things the honest way!

To whom it may concern, the 20% coupons you find on the internet are fakes!!!!I know because I'm an employee for Home Depot who works at the ServiceDesk...We,as a company, never offer 20% off...Do not purchase these coupons they are not real...they appear to be authentic but aren't...

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (3/9/2008 5:42:48 PM)

Milwaukee, WI area Home Depot store will NOT accept on-line coupons except their own. Despite assurances from 3 employes during initial phone calls re: non-HD coupons, once in the store, manager declined to honor it. (It was a 10% discount offer.) Some satisfaction was gained by writing the CEO--received a gift card amounting to the 10%. The extra time and hassle wasn't worth it. HD has fairly regular 10% offers, some of which are valid for all purchases. Suggest waiting, if possible, for genuine HD offers to avoid frustration.

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (3/12/2008 3:55:48 PM)

Just an FYI (for your information)
I thought it would benefit the author of post #44 to know what profit margins are in regards to the Lowes, Home Depot arena...

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=WMT Walmart profit margin 3.36%
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=LOW Lowes 5.82%
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=HD HomeDepot 5.68%

**Not exactly 1.00%

I don't feel bad by using a legitimate coupon under any circumstance. What is unfortunate are the folks who bought from sellers who are taking advantage of the buyers and the companies. If you want to point fingers and call anyone a thief it should be the individuals who sell phony coupons. It seems you may be upset because others are exercising creative methods to save money that you may not have considered. Albeit, any illegal method is certainly condoned in my humble opinion. But, its not acceptable to believe those buyers knowingly broke the law.

Unfortunately for me, I tend to buy early and high then watch prices drop and coupons pass my way after the fact. Oh well, it happens ;-)

There are new 10% and 20% coupons available. They don't look like the old paper ones that could be printed out. These are actually little gift card looking things on a plasticy card with a barcode.
I'm not sure if these are anymore 'legitimate" but they are accepted at our local home depot, while the paper ones were not being accepted anymore.
I also called before purchasing and talked to a manager and she said they accept the 20% coupons only if we used our home depot card (which we were already planning on doing).
I hope that helps anyone looking at purchasing these coupons online.

Guest -> RE: 10% and 20% off Home Coupons Available on eBay - Starting at $0.99 at Home Depot (4/26/2008 10:06:38 PM)

I work at Lowe's and we got emails from corporate telling us NOT to accept ANY 20% HD coupons because they are frauds. I had someone try to use one today and he threw a fit... which was stupid, because he had said something that implied that he bought it online.... LOL
