strapane -> avoid SOYO K7VME Rebate deals (8/19/2004 9:23:22 AM)

SOYO doesn't honor advertised rebates! I've been waiting since April for my $50. Don't get suckered into paying more than $20 for their K7VME motherboard without a rebate. Generally they are overpriced for the quality. This is the ONLY Techbargains rebate of dozens over the past year that I never got any response about.

Is this through tigerdirect too? I have heard people not getting there rebates. Hope you eventually get it though.

Actually it is NOT related to deals... n00b. Photoman was quite polite in his post. The original poster will be able to get the word out on SOYO much quicker to folks looking for this kind of info in the proper forum section. Maybe you should re-read the rules before you get on YOUR high horse.

and strapane... for what it is worth... that is the first time i have heard of such issues with SOYO. I hope you get it handled and get your rebate.

Cheers.[:D]

Thanks for the nice comment.

I try to be polite but it seems I have the ability to upset some people without even trying! [:(]

It happens a lot in B&Ms when I expect to pay what a sign or advertisement says the price will be for an item.

Too much touchy feely these days especially when you point out someone did something wrong. They make up excuses why it is OK and get seriously offended when you tell them they are wrong. My daughter has that problem and it doesn't seem to matter how politely I tell her she's wrong she still gets upset! [&:] Maybe that's just the nature of daughters. [;)]

outthere -> RE: avoid SOYO K7VME Rebate deals (9/2/2004 12:44:05 PM)

I thought the same thing when i saw no status on rebate so i emailed them.
They told me 16 weeks from postmark. It has been 18 weeks now but if you goto thier status site you will see they are finally processing them. I think they just got in over their heads...

still waiting for my $50.....

donaldbrowne -> RE: avoid SOYO K7VME Rebate deals (9/7/2004 2:45:44 PM)

I've got 3 rebates with Soyo. Haven't gotten any checks yet, but my first check supposedly was just cut and the second one actually appears on their status check web site marked as approved. The third one hasn't gotten on the status check site yet, but it seems like they are processing those motherboard rebates slowly but surely.

I'm so thankful that I track my rebates with a free online rebate tracker that I got from Lightspoke. Without it, I wouldn't be able to keep track of these rebates and I've found that if you don't hound the fulfillment centers, they may 1) never receive your rebate or 2) never mail out an approved rebate.

BTW, Lightspoke is a web based database and the rebate tracker can be obtained on their rebate tracker page: http://www.lightspoke.com/rebate-tracker
What I like about it is that it allows you to upload scanned upc, receipts and rebate forms, so resubmitting is a cinch. I use CutePDF to print my receipts to pdf and then upload them. I still have to scan the upc codes though... All this for free.

cheers!

I use a simple setup on MS wordperfect to track... no backdoors or anything...
