The code 12345678 needs to be replaced by the code that Cingular provides you with if the phone was a Cingular phone. You can request the code from Cingular and they will give you a code if you have been a customer for a while. T-Mobile needs you to be a customer for 90 days and they e-mail you the unlock code for any phone within a couple of days...

The code you get is based on the IMEI number of your phone. You cannot really share codes. Call the one that the phone belongs to to get it (T-mobile, Cingular etc)

THANK YOU. Got a long e-mail from T-Mobile with an unlock code for my Siemens CF62T, but I couldn't figure out how to input it either! Until a search lead me to this site!

Please!!! I,m from Venezuela. Got a SiemensCF62T from USA, the person who sold it says it´s unlocked and compatible with Cingular and T-movil, but as I said, I don´t live in the US and my provider is DigitelTIM here in Venezuela. I need the Network code to unlock it, what can I do. Mi IMEI is353485 00 468390 6.
Please help me.

I had the same problem and this solved the problem also:
put in foreign sim
ENTER: *#0000*
ENTER: unlock code provided by TMOBILE-- mine was 8 digets -- then press #
My phone then displayed something like: "network code disabled" and it is unlocked now.
The written instrusctions sent to me by the TMOBILE unlock dept. were backwards:
They said to just insert sim and enter code (if have foreign sim)
They then said: "if do not have sim" follow above instructions-- THIS WAS WRONG
Put in Sim and follow above instructions

T-Mobile customers must meet the following eligibility requirements before contacting Customer Service to request your SIM Unlock code.
The following restrictions apply to all account types:
T-Mobile can provide SIM Unlock Codes only for handsets sold by T-Mobile USA, with the exception of Danger Sidekick devices. T-Mobile can obtain SIM Unlock Codes for companies acquired by t-Mobile USA (VoiceStream, Aerial, Omnipoint, SOL, Digiph, PCS One, and Powertel).
SIM Unlock Codes will only be provided after your account has been active for 90 days. Only one unlock code may be provided per customer every 90 days.
No SIM Unlock Codes will be provided within the 14-Day Buyer's Remorse period. Customers who purchase phones in CA California or via Amazon.com are granted a 30-Day Buyer's Remorse Period.
SIM Unlock Codes are not always available from the Manufacturer. However, T-Mobile will make a dedicated effort to obtain the SIM Unlock code. Note: Other restrictions may apply depending on account type.
