Me and a bunch of others were recently scammed by an etailer www.freedelivery4u.com

we are trying to band together at finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/freescam

www.epinions.com lists many of the experiences in recent days but there may be others out there who do not yet know that their products will never arrive. Please help me get the word out. thanks

These guys frredelivery4u.com are ripoffs. File a complaint with the FTC. www.ftc.gov. Also, notify your credit card company of the scam.

I mailed a check to freedelivery4u.com for a digital camera, it's now apparent to me that I will not be recieving this camera. Is there any way that I can get my money back? If anyone knows, please share!

NINJAFROG

consider your money gone. However, dont let that stop you from pursuing claims with the various agencies that hnadle internet fraud. please visit the newsgroup I listed in my first post and read for the various links. If anything mysery loves company so come commiserate with others just like yourself. Hopefully we can pool enough info together to help identify and potentially catch these guys.

Your best bet is to contact your bank and see what they can do. And contact the FTC. But if FreeDelivery4U filed bancrupcy, there's nothing that can be done.

I also have been scammed by them for $257.00 for a digital camera. We sent them a check which was cashed June 1st. I have been trying to call them to find out when they were sending my camera and got either a busy signal or it kept ringing. However, I had been able to contact them previous to ordering. Tonight,
we tried to go to the website and it's gone. What can we all do about this? I am willing to fight. I appreciate any information from anyone.
Thanks alot,
Joanne Barwick

This reminds me of that scam where a 15 yo set up a 'business' and _TRIED_ to rip-off a lot of people.

Always pay online with a CC.

I thought, I was the only one. I ordered a digital camera on line with freedelivery4u.com on May 12,04 and they charged my cc on 17 of May. I check my status order and it says 3 lbs. box shipped to me. I got the box on 28 of May the Box was so light and I opend it there is no camera in it they put a toy like key chain holding memory card and a note it says this is the free gift you ask for and we will sending the camera on next shipment. It sound suspicius, We were going to holiday of memorial day. I check the site they posted we are closed for 4 days. I waited and after holiday I call them, No Answer, I called them in the evening, No answer, I call my credit card company and report that. They are bunch of dishonest person and I have ordered thing online from ebay before, i never had problem. But this is the last time I would order online. with all the review you read you can not trust no one.

Like Shelby said always use a CC for online purchases. In the case above most if not all the people that paid by CC will not be liable since it's an obvious scam. Call your CC and contest the charges. Those who paid by check, money order....well, they are SOL.

Nasfet is right, but to add to the pay by CC online, make sure its a secure site, you'll see the lock on the lower right hand corner. If you don't see it, don't use your CC.

I payed by check only because they offered two credit cards; both of which I do not possess. I noticed that you keep coming back with a reply to make it seem like we're the idiots. Are you working for them? And now you're defending these scammers so people don't pay attention to these remarks and go ahead and purchase a non-existent product. How would you feel if we all got together and scammed you for something that you'd really like to get?

If the price is to good to be true, it probably is.

I had been looking for a Big A$$ TV for a couple of weeks. Well here comes a huge load of Sony LCD projection TV's for GREAT pricing on Ebay (FD4U). Hummm. 30 - 40% less then ANYONE else, and they are new in the box. WOW, how can I go wrong.

Vendor has 1000+ feedback on E-bay, mostly positive. (mostly small stuff thought, camera bags, tri-pods and small amount of Digital cameras. OK (?). Vendor is listed is pricegrabber - reviews are 50-50. OK, so they might be low service (typical NY reseller going for the up-sale , Hummm. #1)

Well I have a 2 Humm limit to ANY on-line purchase, and here I am considering spending $2,100 or more. They offer an 800 number, that's good. Available only m-f - OK i will wait. the auction has 4 more days.

Monday morning, just as I call the auction ends, seller pulls all large TV's. FYI, they had listed at least 80-100 large screen Sony's that weekend (May 7th - 10th), and got buy-it now bids on 80% of them (ouch).

I still have the link to TV I was considering. They had 10 available, and 'sold' 9 of them before closing it. - >

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3095503445&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Note, $2,100 on a $3,400 TV is hard to pass up.

Well, I did speak to someone, and they noted, we just sell those on E-bay on the weekend, try again next week. OK, for $1,300 I can wait. He also referred me to the web-site, but the price was $2,700 there, then $2,900 a day later. Add another Hummm to the running count.

The following weekend, no auctions ? Called again, no answer, no answer.
I noticed the BBB on-line icon on their web-site (with working link). They were NOT listed as a member ? Sent BBB a note to ask why, Response next day from BBB, they are not a member and the inquiry was being forwarded to legal group on trademark enfringement. Hummm (#4 now)

I added up the questions I had, and chalked it up to: TO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

The next week, E-bay ID was pulled. 3 weeks later site is gone and google took me this thread. No real suprise here, there were plenty of sign's.

Never seen the credit card trick they used, only offering to take cards many do not have - forcing more checks to be written ? Will add that to the watch list.

Still have not bought the B.A. TV, so if you know of a GOOD deal, let me know.

Sorry to those taken in by these guys. It was a tricky one, but still PLENTY OF sign's to the trouble.

Ciao,
John
