Thousands of shoppers who lined up at the crack of dawn on Black Friday 2009 got an unexpected surprise with their morning bargains.
If you shopped at a Toys r Us store...you may have been overcharged!
Complaints from Across the Country
Toys r Us says some shoppers who used credit or debit cards early last Friday morning may have been double charged. It has been fielding complaints from across the country.
The store says the 5am opening caused a computer glitch, where shoppers were charged for a Thursday transaction as well as a Friday transaction. It seems the registers couldn't decide what day it was.
Debit Card? Double the Hurt
For some shoppers who used debit cards, the double charge overdrew their checking account.
Toys r Us apologizes, and says it will reimburse any overdraft fees, provided you can show documentation.
It all kind of makes you wish you had slept in.
