Goto cardweb.com, creditnet.com or dozens of other sights to read reviews of cards. The BLUE is only good for certain uses -- you'll have to jump through many loops to actually get the 5% (e.g., 2% of the 5 necessitate carrying a balance, and you KNOW what you lose on that). In any case, I love this sight, but posting AMEX blue as a "bargain" is rediculous! According to what criteria exactly? Nothing has changed from their usual terms AFAIK, and there are much better options. just my 2cents.

According to the site, it says that "whether you choose to carry a balance or not, you can earn up to 5% cash back." The 5% back is with the condition that you spend more than $6500. Of course they state "Additional terms and conditions apply."

How about the new AMEX clear. No late fees. No annual fees. No transfer fees. Anyone know what the catch is?

I refused to upgrade to Amex platnium and stay with Gold Reward plus ... thing that's the best card there is out there. 50K free points good for 2 domestic flight ticket as soon as you sign up and spend $500, 1.5X points for certain things. Think they waive the first year fee, than it's $150 a month ($450 a month for platinum).... booking a flight with no black out days? Priceless.

Priceless. you are correct! gold rewards plus is a much better deal when they offer you the 50k free points and yes they do waive the first year fee, but this is by invt. only you can't just call them and tell them you want it. i recived mine and spent 500 and now i'm eligable for 2 free round trip tickets anywhere in the u.s, but you don't have to use the points on airfair only you can get a lot of diffrent stuff on line like for exmpl. a $500 dell gift card towards any purchuse

I had this card but gave it up because, more than once, I received a bill with about 3 days, including a weekend, to get payments in. They whacked me with a $29 late fee a couple of times. The second time, I noted when the bill arrived. They had a date like a week and a half earlier, and when I called to let them know this was insufficient time to have a due date, they claimed the post office was not delivering fast enough and I should call the USPS. I don't believe that they mail anywhere near the date they bill is generated and the late fee is exorbitant. I felt like it was a setup and canceled. It's a great card, but beware the late fee/short time to pay. For online payers, forget it -- four business days, or whatever, means you have to get these paid the second they come in the door. I switched to a Capitol One Rewards and had no problem. Currently I use the Schwab Visa you get with a checking account there (interest paying) and it's been fine.

This card has a couple great features. If you buy just about anything that has a warranty with this card, AMEX will increase the warranty buy one year, so if it breaks, they will either fix it for free or refund your money. Also, if your item gets damage or broken during the first 90 days they will either repair it or refund you money. All you need to do is kept all paper work on the covered product.

I have had this card for over a year. I pay my balance in full each month. I buy a lot of business related stuff on it. My rebate was more than $1900.00 last year. On one occassion my payment arrived a day beyond the due date. I called spoke with someone who gave me a credit of my otherwise prompt payment history. Nothing to complain about. I have recommended it to friends. Peter

The problem with this card is 1% for 0-6500 and 5% for $6501 and up. Basically, you have to buy $13,000 worth of gas, supermarket, and drugstores to get avg. 3%. You should try Chase Freedom Visa card. 3% for gas, super, and drug with no minimum. Furthermore, when you accumulate $200 cash back from gas, super, drug, and anything else, you can trade in the $200 to get $250!!

The problem with the Chase Freedom Card is that you only earn the additional 2% on a maximum of $600/month. After that, it goes back to the 1%.

I had this card for over a year after reading all the reviews. As some posters INCORRECTLY posted, you do NOT have to carry a balance. I pay mine off every month. Also, if you do the math, the Amex Blue is a deal if you spend more than $6500 a year. Yes, there are plenty of cards that give you straight 1-1.5 back but the Amex Blue gives you about 2% back during the course of the year if not better depending on your expenditures. I have not seen one card that gave that type of % back. The only downside of this card is that less than 5% of my purchases do not accept Amex. Most of the time, it is small shops (small retailers, haircutters, etc.) that cannot afford to pay the Amex exchange fees in addition to the Mastercard/Visa exchange. Again, only a small percentage of my purchases. Otherwise, great card especially if you pay your balance every month.

cardweb.com You really are not that bright. As long as you pay off the balance in the year time that is not debt accumulation that is smart financing. It takes alot more than Amex offering 0% to make the economy go bad genius.

i also got rid of the card because i got, more than once, bills dated probably more than a week earlier than the date received with only days to pay, which is impossible with online payment and, since I wait to pay my bills until the weekend, this was an accident waiting to happen. the first time I got whacked with the $29 late fee I just assumed that I had waited too long. After it happened a second time, I watched the bills carefully and that's when I saw the problem of getting a bill only days before it was due. when i called to complain, they told me to call the post office, and insisted the bills were mailed on the date stated on the bill, which I don't believe for a second. I told them to cancel my account. I would never use another amex product based on this. my own conclusion is that this is a company policy used to extract late fees and no accident. that's my own opinion based on my experience.

This card is a joke and so is AMEX. They are yanking cards from people that can actually afford to carry high balances and pay them off. They yanked my $35.000 limit card and told me they would reduce it to $20k. I wrote them a check and told them to kiss my azz.
