For all with kids who still believe (mine dont)
Letters from Santa sent from the north pole...
Generate a letter -keep reading and do the following.

The North Pole Station is once again offering its special
"North Pole postmark" during the holiday season.

People who want to receive the postmark should perform the following four steps:

1. completely address and apply postage stamps to the envelope or envelopes
on which they want to have the North Pole postmark.

2. Insert the envelope or envelopes into a larger envelope or container.

3. Include a note requesting the special North Pole postmark.

4 Mail to:
North Pole Cancellations
U.S. Postal Service
5400 Mail Trail
Fairbanks, Alaska 99709- 9998.

The Postal Service recommends large orders of addressed and stamped envelopes be
sent via Priority or Express mail. The cards will be postmarked North Pole and will
be mailed from Fairbanks.

North Pole cancellations requests should be received in Fairbanks by December 7.

so we make up the letter, send it there, then it gets sent back?

the story links are confusing...we can make up our own, right? or maybe im reading too much into it.

Basically - yes.

The sears portrait story links will open up a letter generator. So if your at a loss on making a letter - just choose one of the "letters FROM santa" from the drop down and then you enter in the childs name, gifts they want and the other fields it requests. There are three formats to choose from. Once you found the one you like you print it out on a color printer. Then follow the directions to get it postmarked FROM the north pole. This is more for older children that would know to check the post mark :)

I didnt know there was PO at the pole.

Wouldn't it just be easier to create your own postmark? What kid looks at those postmarks anyway?

People charge to do this - Thats fine.
Do it yourself info is here.
Yes, you can make your own post mark.
This one is the real deal --- GREAT for grandparents too.

Do you know how funny it is when Grandpa hangs his letter on his Fridge for the kiddies to ooohhh and ahhh over!

And the north pole post mark boogles him!
