I googled "rollover" and this is where I ennded up. Maybe someone can give me some advice, as I'm pretty clueless on this one. My 84-yr-old widow mother, (I know, your heart is breaking already), needs a phone that will work in "middle of nowhere", Georgia just in case of the proverbial emergency. She uses MAYBE 30 min/month. She wants a pre-pay that lets her "pay-as-you-go", but doesn't want her minutes to expire if she doesn't use them. (I'n pretty sure she want a winning lottery ticket and Tony Bennet at her doorstep, but...) Any suggestions?

Not to mention they aren’t building as many towers as the used to. They want you to buy a phone which can work on a tower 15 miles away.

I had ATT/Cingular for 10 years, got married and my husband wanted to swith...WORST mistake ever, we have more dropped calls. Now I understand why their commerical says, "can you hear me now", because we are always losing/dropping calls with Verizon. They suck...if I could get out of my contract I would TODAY!

Here's my 2 cents. I've had ATT/Cingular for about 10-12 years, since cell phones were clunky things that made phone calls and nothing else. I love their service and have never considered switching providers. I have grown children who've has Sprint, Nextel, ect and They've all complained about their service. I may get one or two dropped calls a year, usually when traveling and I hit a small dead zone like I did last year in the mountains in Virginia. As for rollover minutes, I have never "lost" mine in all the years I've been with them. I have lost a few to the one year expiration date, not not many. I usually use up our rollovers when we go on vacation. I guess it's all a matter of perspective. If you've had a bad experience with a company, they're the worst company in the world. If everything has gone well they're fantastic.
