I Think This Needs To Be Dealt With Officially The Target Store In Northern Wilmington Delaware Would Not Allow The Salvation Army To Locate A Bell Ringer In Front Of Their Store In That Location During The Christmas Season And I Want Target To Know We In Delaware Have People Who Will Not Shop In Their Stores For That Action That Is So Insensitive Of A Major Store To Disrespect An Organization That Helps The Homeless And Needy And If You Agree With Us Who Say It Is So Insensitive Then I Ask That You As Well Do Not Patronize Their Stores Anywhere.

its about time they stop this. all other stores should do the same

If you want to give money to all of these people just send it in to them

I am tired of hearing about the poor people

the ones with new cars and food stamps.

after reading these items:

Salvation Army Rescinds Benefits to Gay Partners

Salvation Army Uses Homeless To Fight Gay Benefits

Salvation Army "Using Deceptive Ads"

I don't think I even want to support the salvation army anymore. Good riddance to them.

Your response is extremely narrow-minded.

Let's see . . . "bellringers" is that like a racist term or a homophobic term? All this rhetoric just sends a message of hate to a conservative organization that helps alot of people without wasting a lot of administrative money. Target obviously supports gay rights or they wouldn't be bashing the Salvation Army. Let's get this straight. Christianity will never support homonsexuality because it is simply not the way that God intended things to be. You say that's wrong--I say you need salvation.

I doubt that anyone reading quotes from an obviously pro-homosexual (I can't use the word "gay" because they will star it out) organization would have ever supported the Salvation Army to begin with.

We aren't pushing the Salvation Army away, we belief in equality. If we allow the Salvation Army then we'd have to allow the Boys and Girls Club, and Red Cross, and the Hispanic family that's house was burnt down last week and need donations, as well as the crooked "homeless" man that drives that brand new car. The issue isn't that Target doesn't "like" or "condemn" these people we just can't have 14 charities ringing bells and harassing people in front of our store. We want shopping at Target to be peaceful, easy, and mindlessly relaxing. One thousand bells ringing and people begging doesn't quite set the "mood" for such shopping.

I am not a Target employee, so I have no axe to grind. If Target chooses to keep anyone from soliciting in front of their store, I don't have a problem with it. I'm sure Target donates millions of dollars each year to charitible organizations, and in my book they are a reputable company. I may spend an extra dollar or two there just to make up for some of the folks that are boycotting.

I agree with Target. I'm tired of being harassed for donations every time I enter or leave a store.

Our family is very upset with Target's boycott of the Salvation Army. Because of this action we have chosen to boycott their stores.

Ok, here is the deal. Apparently target has in the past let salvation army people collect money outside the store. A salvation army bell ringer was robbed and the salvation army sued target because the incident happened on target property, so I think that Target should have the right to refuse the money collection.

I used to be a Target employee. It is very frustrating to have to deal with complaints over something we could not control because it was an executive decision. Please write to the company or call them, but don't take it out on the people who have no control!!

Target I believe has a policy towards no soliciting. Yet the moron Govenor of California Arnie used a Target store 2yrs ago to solicit sigs. with the help of a extreme right-wing group. This before Salvation Army. The Salvation Army issue is up to Target ,but it would be nice if they would stick to policy. Oh by the way, the local Target donated to Arnie a good sum.

Now I support gay marriage ,for I have no problem with it. Yes I'm a liberal. I wouldn't want anybody else to tell me whom I should marry. No! you can't marry a blonde lady or a redhead!. The no gay marriage stems from the same people who hated when African Americans wanted to sit in a different part of the bus or use the same bathrooms.

Finally again the Target issue is an issue of hypocrisy. Have a nice night.

No one should have the right to tell you who to marry. If you want to marry your father, brother, sister, or the family pet it should be ok. Also if you decide to have 3 or 4 husbands or wives that should be ok too. O think liberals wouls all agree.

i truly believe that target has the right to ban the salvation army from ringing there bells outside of their stores. if you choose to donate money to the needy there are plenty of ways to do it, so instead of spending your time typing messages about how furious you are find a way that you can help the needy, you're not helping by just sitting there at your computer compaining about it. and quit turning it into a racism issue, this has nothing to do with the color of anyones skin, it has to do with ringing a bell and asking for money...

Online Wish List Helps Hurricane Survivors and Others in Need
TARGET AND THE SALVATION ARMY ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

Warm bedding. Socks for little feet. A wished-for baby doll or basketball. Because simple gifts can mean so much, Target and The Salvation Army today announced their partnership for The Target/Salvation Army Wish List, an online site to provide essential items for those impacted by recent hurricanes, and other individuals and families in need across the country.

From November 25, 2005 through January 25, 2006 visitors to Target.com/salvationarmy after November 25 can view and purchase clothing, household items, personal products and Gift Cards to be donated to families across the country. The Salvation Army will distribute the purchased items. In addition, guests can directly connect to the The Salvation Army’s website to make a financial donation.

“The Salvation Army has been vital in helping hurricane survivors through the recovery process while maintaining their steadfast commitment to strengthening local communities,” said Laysha Ward, vice president community relations, Target. “We share their ongoing commitment to long-term preparedness, and are proud to partner with The Salvation Army as we strive to make a real difference in the lives of families across the country this holiday season.”

“This is an important partnership with Target to help the people of these areas begin to rebuild their lives,” said Major George Hood, national community relations and development secretary for The Salvation Army. “With their assistance, we are enabling thousands of Gulf Coast families and people all across the country to begin that process.” ey’re going to need a lot of help for a long time. We’re going to be here to help them
