In need of some advise. My parents are using AOL version 7.0 and thinking of upgrading to 9.0. (I have already suggested going broadband, but to no avail.) Anyway, Has anyone had any problems with 9.0? What are the benefits you have seen, and is it possible to go back to 7.0 without a lot of hassel should it be necessary? Your thought are appreciated!!!

I have dial-up and I DO NOT like AOL 9.0 for dial-up - I think it's more for DSL ... I use AOL 8.0 plus and I like it alot - I would recommend upgrading aleast to 8.0 (or 8.0 plus). If you do get the DSL - Get 9.0 - you'd prob. like it then!

I think the 8.0 is the best.

I am using 9.0 for Broadbrand and really like it. I think many features are much improved, including email and web browsing. Also, instant messaging was completely redone to make it more like AIM. I am not sure how it is on a dial up but it is pretty good on broadband.

Got that right...AO-Hell does suck been using it for 5 years now. BUT I like my screen names and I hate the idea of letting everyone know I have changed my ISP.

BTW I switched from 5 to 8 recently. My OLD comp gets fussy with the change but with 5 I couldn't veiw HTML mail.

AOL sucks. Get ANY other dial up service and use the "Real" Internet

F-ing "Keyword Search" > Noobs

Stay away from AOL 9.0. In fact, stay away from AOL period. I was a long time user, but am now on Comcast. I had tried 9.0 before leaving and quickly back to 8.0 which I found was the best yet that they had offered.

i especially hate all these n00bie programs like aol, real etc that practically RAPE your desktop space and place an icon and stupid crappy support programs at EVERY folder and location possible where they will try to maximize their programs' annoyance.

i have aol on my laptop but i never open it. thats it.
i dont even use real, i use real alternative. Great lil proggie.
