You have to match the media with it. Im not sure what this one uses, don't use just anY media. What I would do is call the people at meritline.com & ask them what to use & order from them the first time. Then you would have the right stuff, they are pretty inexpensive.

2. Ritek is a major OEM DVD+R manufactuer of Ricoh, Memorex, Fuji, Verbatim, etc...
3. Ritek DVD+R has been sent to all major DVD burner manufacuters for testing to make sure it is compatible.

ritek is the best for the buck. That's all I use and I convert vhs to dvd as a business.
